OUR
BELIEFS
We believe that the entire Bible is inspired of God, is without
error and is of plenary authority.
(II
Tim 3:16; II
Pet 1:21). We
believe that the Bible has been preserved and exists today for English
speaking people in the Authorized
Version commonly called the King
James Bible (II
Tim 3:15-16; Ps
12:6-7; 119:89;
Matt
5:18).
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Duet
6:4; Matt
28:19; II
Cor. 13:14; Eph
4:4-6; 1Jn
5:5-7).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy
Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man (Luke
1:35; Rom
1:3-4; Phil
2:6-9).
We believe that man is saved by grace through faith.
Man is depraved, utterly sinful and his efforts, regardless of
how well intended, cannot earn salvation.
Salvation is a free gift made available by the complete payment
for sin through Christ’s death on the cross (Rom
3:9-12; 3:24-28;
4:1-8;
I
Cor. 1:18-31; 15:3-4;
Eph
2:8-9).
We believe in the eternal security of the believer (Rom.
5:1-2; 8:29-34;
Eph.
1:13,14; Phil.
1:6) and the eternal damnation of the lost (Rom.
2:1-11; Eph.
5:6; II
Thess. 1:7-9; Matt.
25:41; Rev.
20:11-15; 21:8).
We believe that the church of this dispensation is the Body of
Christ (Eph.
1:22-23; 3:1-6)
which is to be distinguished from the prophesied, earthly
kingdom
of
Christ
. The Body of Christ had its historical beginning with the salvation
and commissioning of the Apostle Paul (I
Tim. 1:15,16; Eph.
3:1-9; Col.
1:25,26).
We believe the commission of the Body of Christ is to proclaim
the message of reconciliation (II
Cor. 5:14-21) and to preach Jesus Christ according to
the Revelation of the Mystery (Rom.
16:25; Eph.
3:8,9). The “gospel
of the grace of God” is referred to as “my gospel” by the
apostle Paul of the Gentiles (Rom.
2:16; 16:25).
It is this gospel with which we are entrusted today (I
Thess. 2:4). There is no difference between Jew and
Gentile today (Rom.
1:12).
We believe the details for the walk of the believer today in the
Dispensation
of Grace are found in Paul’s epistles (Romans
– Philemon), (I
Tim. 1:15,16) which are written to us. Where as (Matt.
– John and up to the mid part of Acts) have to do with
the nation of Israel (Rom.
15:8; Matt.
10:5-6) where there is a distinction made between the
uncircumcision and the circumcision (Eph.
2:11,12), and the distinction is again made in the
Hebrew epistles, written to the nation Israel where God again deals
with the nation under the New Covenant that he makes with THEM (Jer.
31:31-33; Heb.
8:8-10).
We acknowledge that the
above articles of faith do not exhaust the content of our faith which
is the entire Word of God. However, we believe this list distinguishes
some basic truths which are commonly disregarded today.
The
Purpose of Our Grace Assembly
We are a non-denominational, self-governing body of
believers not bound to any organization.
Our purpose is two-fold:
- To
Evangelize the Community.
God “will
have all men to be saved.”
We are committed to the “preaching of the cross” as God’s
only answer to sin and It’s eternal
consequence. We
faithfully strive to proclaim the gospel of the grace of God to all
people in the spirit of love and meekness.
- To
Edify the Saints of God.
God “will
have all men to come unto the
knowledge
of the truth.” We
are committed to establishing the child of God in truth.
We provide an environment of fellowship and learning so that
all believers can grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
The
Approach of Our Grace Assembly
As an independent
Bible
Church
body, we are free from denominational programs and religious
hierarchy. This gives us
liberty to structure our ministry after Scriptural patterns.
We seek to conduct warm, evangelistic services free from
fanaticism and formalism. We
believe the Bible must be Rightly Divided according to the
dispensational principal set forth in II
Tim 2:15.
Our special emphasis is on the Message of Grace committed to our
trust by our risen Lord through the ministry to the Apostle Paul, and
on the grace-life this message produces.
Understanding and enjoying the Bible and thus having the grace
and love of God to us in Christ controlling our lives is our goal.
